THIS IS A MAHOGANY CHIFFONIER FROM THE VICTORIAN PERIOD. IT HAS A CABINET AT THE BOTTOM WITH 2 DOORS. ON THE TOP THERE IS A BACK PANEL. THIS IS AN ATTRACTIVE PIECE. CONSIDERABLE VENEER DAMAGE AND OLD DAMP DAMAGE AROUND THE BASE ON ONE SIDE, SOME OLD WOODWORM. GENERAL WEAR AND TEAR. SCRATCHES ON THE TOP.
THIS LOOKS OK AS IT IS, BUT COULD EASILY BE STRIPPED OR PAINTED. PLEASE SEEK ADVICE BEFORE STRIPPING OLD PAINT AND USE THE CORRECT SAFETY EQUIPMENT. IT WOULD LOOK GREAT PAINTED IN A CONTEMPORY COLOUR TO GIVE IT A STYLISH NEW LOOK. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT TALL FURNITURE SHOULD BE SAFELY SECURED TO THE WALL WITH SCREWS / BRACKETS FOR SAFETY.
