THIS IS A LATE VICTORIAN DESK. IN SOLID WOOD, PROBABLY SATINWOOD, IT HAS A TWIN PEDESTAL. THERE DRAWERS ACROSS THE TOP, A LARGE CENTRE DRAWER, AND SMALLER DRAWER EACH SIDE, CUPBOARDS BELOW ON EACH SIDE.
THE DRAWERS HAVE BRASS DROP HANDLES. ON ORIGINAL CASTORS. THE OPENING AT THE FRONT IS VERY SMALL. IT IS STRONG AND STURDY, IN 1 LARGE PIECE.
THE DESK IS SHOWING SIGNS OF WEAR DUE TO AGE. THERE ARE SCUFFS AND MARKS ON THE TOP PANEL, THE TOP PANEL BASE HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH CHIPBOARD UNDER THE LEATHER INLAY. TRIM MISSING ON THE SIDES.
IN AVERAGE CONDITION. A STURDY AND STYLISH DESK FOR THE HOME OR OFFICE.
